Ostheimer Sumselinchen
New in 2025 Ostheimer have created two new figures “Pepe” and “Sumselinchen” who are the main characters in Daniela Drescher’s latest book “Pepe and Sumselinchen”. The book is currently only available in German, however we hope that with the release of these whimsical figures from Ostheimer that the English print edition is not too far away.
Ostheimer have been handcrafting the finest natural wooden toys in Germany for more than 70 years. Inspired by the Waldorf educational principles of Rudolf Steiner, each figure is individually carved with love and care using Ostheimer’s signature soft shapes and gentle colours, bringing warmth and beauty into children’s imaginary play and story-telling.
Thoughtfully designed to fit into a child’s hands, the handcrafted nature of these heirloom toys gives each piece its own special charm and character. Made from sustainable European timber, the natural characteristics of the wood are enhanced by the use of non-toxic water colours and organics.
